USO Hosts Refitting Event for Army National Guard Amid Wildfires
On June 29, 2025, the USO organized a crucial moral and refit event for the Army National Guard, who have been valiantly combating the trout wildfires in Silver City, New Mexico, since June 12. This gathering provided service members with a much-needed opportunity to unwind and connect with each other, reminding them of the importance of support in challenging times.
The event’s success was made possible by the generous support of Western New Mexico University, which graciously allowed the use of their football field. This collaboration created an atmosphere of excitement and unity, where service members could enjoy activities, food, and fellowship together.
As we celebrate the resilience of our troops and the kindness of the community, the USO remains dedicated to ensuring our heroes feel supported and appreciated for their unwavering commitment. Let us continue to express our gratitude for their service, today and every day!
