About Us

The USO, is a private nonprofit organization which has served the men and women in the U.S. military and their families since 1941. The USO is the force behind the forces, as we strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. From the moment, they join, through their deployments and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side. Over time, the USO has become the vital bridge between Americans and their military service members.

Fort Bliss is one of two main installations in the US for training and pre-deployment preparation. USO El Paso boasts one of the largest USO footprints on any military installation. Currently, USO El Paso operates six sites and a mobile Canteen/food truck; serving troops and families assigned to Fort Bliss, McGregor Range, White Sands Missile Range, Kirtland Air Force Base and Holloman Air Force Base. As the number of service members in the (West Texas and Southern New Mexico) region grows, USO El Paso works diligently to provide an array of important programs and services created specifically for service members and their families in all branches of the military.

USO El Paso centers at East and West Fort Bliss provide a warm and comforting place where service members and their families can make use of the internet café, play a video game, catch a movie, play pool, have a snack or just put their feet up and relax. At the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) we support enlisted recruits and their families. From the time, they begin their military career, to the time they reintegrate into civilian life, the USO is with them at every milepost of their military journey.

USO Transition Services aids service members (12 months prior to transition through 12 months post military service) and their families to successfully transition back to civilian life through a first-of-its-kind concierge approach that connects troops and their families with specific resources and organizations in the following eight pillars of support – Finance, Housing, Legal, Benefits, Education, Employment, Health and Wellness, and Family Support.

The USO is a family of volunteers, sustained by the charitable contributions of millions of generous Americans. We are united in our commitment to support America’s service members by keeping them connected to the people, places and things they love. As the needs of the region’s military population continue to change, USO El Paso will be ready to serve.
